Kitchen Saints (2021)
By sanctifying the hot sauces that bring spice to our life, I explore connections to Catholicism’s impact on Western Art History. While referencing the colonial legacies of retablo paintings of the US Southwest by placing these paintings on found wood, I also engage the relationships between us and our food through highlighting kitchen commodities that blur public and private consumption.
